Auto accident investigations provide a detailed review of the police report, interviews of witnesses, scene photography, skid mark and roadway damage photography, traffic and weather conditions data, speed-skid estimates, and driver's history research. We investigate to determine if all potential witnesses have been identified. In many cases, we have found previously unknown witnesses whose knowledge of the incident was crucial to an accurate and fair determination of liability.
Our search includes making inquiries with nearby businesses and homes, as well as asking known witnesses if they know of anyone else who might have seen the incident. After diligently searching for witnesses, we locate their residence information then interview them to determine the extent of their knowledge of the incident. Written or recorded statements are obtained to secure their testimony. In some cases, we will conduct a limited background investigation on the other driver to determine if there is a history of problems.
When requested, we will also perform a background investigation into adverse witnesses to determine how credible their testimony will be. Background investigations are also available to help refute the testimony of the opposition's expert witnesses.
