Locating important people is an integral part of fact finding. We use a combination of cutting edge technology and old fashioned "leg work" to locate obscure witnesses whose names are common or whose last known information is very old. Each witness locate is different and depend largely on what information the client is able to provide. Depending on the available information, we are able to determine dates of birth, social security numbers, maiden and married names, and address histories. Building this base of knowledge most often leads to successfully finding the witness.
This type of work is most often a matter of persistence and the knowledge of where to find sources of information based on known data. The JD Stone Agency maintains access to a wide variety of proprietary data sources. Those sources, together with our many years of experience at locating and interviewing witnesses enables us to locate crucial fact witnesses quickly and efficiently.
In certain cases it becomes necessary or desirable to have a written or recorded statement of a witness' testimony. Auto liability and subrogation cases as well as Workers' Compensation AOE-COE investigations frequently use this service. Each witness is interviewed to determine the extent of their knowledge concerning the incident, accident or circumstances under investigation. These interviews may be recorded on audio tape, videotape, or a hand written account of the interview may be prepared for the witnesses signature.
This service provides a cost effective means of getting important witnesses to commit their recollections to the record and helps our attorney clients determine the value of each witnesses testimony.
